Wineries from Lake Chelan, Leavenworth and Wenatchee win Gold & Double Gold medals at Seattle Wine Awards

Just over 100 wineries from around Washington State received awards at the 2017 Seattle Wine Awards event, including 25 wineries in the Cascade Valley Wine country regions of Lake Chelan, Leavenworth and Wenatchee. Many took Gold, Double Gold (and a few Diamonds) at the Seattle Wine Awards.

“This year our region truly shines and we would like to congratulate all of the award winners from our region for continuously producing high quality beautiful wines that are sure to continue to please and excite pallets around the country,” said Madeline Nelson, executive director of Cascade Valley Wine Country.

About Seattle Wine Awards

The Seattle Wine Awards is the largest, most prestigious, and professional recognition program for Washington State wine, cider and fruit wine. This year, 2017 is marking the 12th anniversary of the Seattle Wine awards.

Wine from recognized Washington AVA’s and AVA’s extending into Oregon are judged by a panel of recognized industry professionals such as sommeliers, restaurateurs, wine critics and media personnel. Evaluation is held by blind tasting, varietal, and retail price tiers. Grand Awards of Excellence awarded at levels that include Double Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
