Manson volleyball loses to Lake Roosevelt in three close sets

The Trojan Volleyball Teams traveled to Lake Roosevelt on Thursday, Sep. 7, 2017, for their second match of the season. Junior Varsity won their match 2 sets to 1, and Varsity lost in 3 sets.

In the Varsity match:

  • Set scores were 23-25, 23-25 and 22-25.
  • Leading the team for the Trojans was Megan Clausen with 5 kills and 7 blocks.
  • Celina Mendoza added 4 kills and 2 blocks.

“The Trojans play fun, high energy volleyball this season, and Thursday’s game was no exception,” Coach hayli Thompson said. “Libero Sandra Diaz had a solid performance, as did Sophomore setter Abbie Reed. The girls worked hard and as a team making for a fun match to watch.”

In the Junior Varsity match:

  • Set scores were 25-21, 25-18 and 15-25.
  • Leading the team was Devyn Smith with 6 kills.
  • Maya Hannah and Sarah Simmons each added 3 kills.
  • Marylein Bernardo led the Trojans behind the service line with 16/16 serves and 4 aces.
  • Lexi Stotko served 10/11 with 2 aces.

The Manson Trojans will play their next match on Monday, September 11 in Pateros with the JV starting at 5:30 p.m. and Varsity to follow.
