The Manson Parks and Recreation District has elected Interim Director Robin Pittman to the new position of Director. Although the decision was made during a Manson Park Board meeting on Feb. 9, 2017, Pittman may or may not be kept on for the position, due to the fact that she is related to one of the members of the board that elected her.

As a result, a 30-day hold has been placed on the decision in order to confer with the State Auditor. The ruling regarding Pittman’s appointment as Director will be discussed during the Manson Parks and Recreation District’s next monthly board meeting on March 9, 2017.

Pittman told GoLakeChelan.com that her instatement was “potentially exciting” due to its potential to be overturned. She retains her enthusiasm for spring projects such as AAU baseball and a restroom facility for Willow Point Park, expected to be complete before summer.

Pittman has served as Interim Director since Wai Tim Petersen resigned from the position in 2016 to pursue a career with Chelan County Public Utility District (PUD).
