Rosellyn Lindert was crowned Manson Apple Blossom Queen during the 2017 Apple Blossom Royalty Pageant selection at Manson High School on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017. Daicy Leyva and Jasmine Pascasio will serve as Lindert’s princesses for 2017.
The 2017 pageant was hosted by Green Dot Sub Shop owner Jeff Conwell. Conwell led the candidates through individual speeches and an impromptu question round.
“If you could travel back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?” Conwell asked.
“I would tell myself to not procrastinate,” said candidate Maddee Ward in response.
Candidates participated in a group dance number before the 2016 royalty was invited to the stage to give farewell speeches following their reign.
Jasmine Pascasio was named the 2017 ‘Miss Congeniality’ in addition to being named a 2017 princess, following a heartfelt speech and an emotional response to the impromptu question, “I would tell myself not to worry so much and that life gets better,” Pascasio stated.
Queen Rosellyn Lindert and her princesses will serve as ambassadors for the Manson community at events throughout 2017.
“I’m excited to represent the community as best I can, that’s why I ran,” said Lindert whose speech focused on the beauty of the area and its inhabitants.
The Manson Apple Blossom Royalty will participate in the parade during the 2017 Manson Apple Blossom Festival on May 12 and 13 in downtown Manson. For more information, visit the Manson Apple Blossom website.
