Chelan High School sophomore Lucy Bordner was notified on Thursday, April 20, 2017, via a phone call from Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OPSI) that she is one of 15 winners out of over 2,000 entries for the OPSI Washington Art Education Association art show.

The Washington Art Education Association will be awarding Lucy $200 and will keep her work for permanent display at the state capital in Olympia. Her work is a drawing of Lucy’s sister Amelia.

The Superintendent’s High School Art Show is an annual event co-hosted by OSPI and the Washington Art Education Association (WAEA). High school students from all nine of the state’s educational service districts (ESDs) participate in this artistic celebration each year. The finalists from these regional ESD shows are invited to participate in the Superintendent’s High School Art Show.

Congratulations to Lucy Bordner for this honor!
