The Lake Chelan Community Hospital “Guild B” presents their annual and ever popular Lake Chelan Home Tour and Art Show this Saturday, Sep. 16, 2017. The 2017 Home Tour will feature tours of four distinct homes in the valley.
The second home to be featured on the Lake Chelan Home Tour is Historic Treasure, owned by Dan and Dian Prentice. This historic home located at Minneapolis Beach on the South Shore of Lake Chelan was built in 1930 and bought by the current owners 20 years ago as a summer home. They have lived here full time since 2002. Throughout the house, look for the original art created for the home by architect/designer Milan Heger, and fine interior finishes by Lukas Prochazka who remodeled the home.
The spacious, open-plan great room faces Lake Chelan, with a wall of windows looking out to the spectacular view. One end of the room is a seating area with fireplace and a high mantelpiece. The other is the dining area with a table for eight to ten and a six-feet long antique bench with spindle back. A gracious deck with comfortable chairs is the perfect spot to watch a sunset over the lake.
The kitchen, separated from the dining room by a half-wall counter, is modern with a commercial gas stove, farm sink, white cabinets, and a backsplash of white subway tile. The “theater room” has built-in sound speakers, artwork by Heger, and a glass door leading to the side yard.
Read about other homes featured on the Home Tour:
Upstairs, the master bedroom features a reading nook, crystal chandelier, and a large iron four-poster bed. The windows overlook Lake Chelan. At the opposite end of the staircase, the cozy guest room is brightened by more artwork and fine view. A guest house accommodates additional visitors.
The atmosphere throughout this beautifully remodeled home is one of rustic elegance. Each room displays a sure sense of style and fine design. With its beautiful lakeside setting, the home is indeed an historic treasure.
The Lake Chelan Home Tour event will also feature an Art Show at Tsillan Cellars featuring Northwest artists. Tickets are not required to enjoy the Art Show. The tour and art show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All tour proceeds raised by Guild B will go toward the purchase of needed medical equipment at Lake Chelan Community Hospital. Tickets are $20 and can be purchase at Allisons in Manson, Culinary Apple and the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce, or you may purchase tickets online at www.LakeChelanHomeTour.com.
If you can’t make it to this year’s event, consider making a donation to Guild B at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital. The Hospital and community appreciates your support!
