The Lake Chelan Historical Society’s annual meeting on Monday, April 17, 2017, will host Mark Evans of Chelan, hydroplane racer and son of Norm Evans of Miss Bardahl fame. He will give a lively talk on his hydroplane career and his family history. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and is held at the Chelan Museum at 204 E. Woodin Ave Chelan, WA.
Besides Mark Evans’ presentation, there will be business of the society to conduct. President Jane Lloyd will report on the year’s events and financial status, and the Volunteer of the Year will be recognized. Also, a vote will be conducted on the nominations to the Board of Directors; Adrienne Carpenter, Roberta Simonds, Dave Clouse and Mary Sherer are up for re-election.
The annual History Notes will be distributed, free to members. This year’s articles cover the Ski Stormy Mountain plans, apple boxes and labels, Sylvester Wapato’s family story and more. Anyone who does not attend the meeting may pick up a copy beginning the following day on April 18.
