The Lady Goats varsity basketball team got rolling early as they faced Cascade on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, despite some early foul trouble. Lexie Gleasman scored 15 points in the first half, which jump-started the Lady Goats run to a 28 – 14 halftime lead.
Ashley Sams added 8 points in the second half with a variety of mid-range jumpers. Matea Ivory locked down the point guard spot, as Chelan was without Booh Huddleston due to illness. Molly Oswald was a defensive standout disrupting the Cascade offense all over the floor.
When the game was over, the Lady Goats delivered a decisive win over Cascade with a final score of 48- 27.
“We defended the perimeter well,” Coach Steve Nygreen said. “Offensively, we were aggressive getting to the basket. Cascade changed defenses and our team adjusted well.”
The Lady Goats travel to Okanogan this Friday, Dec. 8, 2017. The game time is 5:45 p.m.
