“Build it and they will come” is adapted from a quote from the 1989 movie Field of Dreams where an Iowa corn farmer hears a voice telling him to build a baseball diamond in his corn fields.
In a similar line, the new owners of Harmony Meadows, Jacquelyn and Jeremy Jaech, have rehabilitated the property located at 4848 Green Avenue in Manson (former Banjo Creek Farms) to become a tennis and event center that will attract and introduce others to this charming gem tucked in the Cascade Mountains.
Harmony Meadows Tennis and Event Center is an intimate event venue with state-of-the-art tennis facilities. They will cut their grand opening ribbon this Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 3 p.m. The main Grand Opening celebration will take place from 3-7 p.m. Surrounded by apple orchards and an equestrian theme with views of the Lake Chelan Valley, the facility provides twelve acres of grounds, a 6,000-square-foot event hall, a bridal cottage and tournament level tennis courts.
The Jaechs have renovated the property with the hope that it will become an economic driver for the community by creating a tennis and event destination for locals and visitors to the valley.
With four indoor courts and eight outdoor courts nestled in the valley, the tennis courts will be used to host tournaments, adult camps, youth camps, and provide tennis instruction for individuals and groups.
“Jaqueline is a big tennis player, and she noticed that there wasn’t a lot of tennis in the area,” Ygoa said. “She came up with idea to build youth courts, and they ended up having to restore the event center, and now six courts turned into eight courts. It just kind of blew up.”
The grounds also contain an equestrian themed event hall with exposed trusses that can accommodate up to 200 guests. It also features a spacious catering kitchen and private lobby.
“We are thinking of doing different holiday parties like a harvest party, maybe a Christmas special to get kids out and have different activities. Next summer we’d like to do a concert series,” Ygoa stated of the multipurpose event venue.
The meadow can accommodate larger festivities, while the gazebo garden, grazing pastures, or barn breezeway can host more intimate affairs. All of these locations incorporate a natural, rustic elegance of the property. Harmony Meadows offers two types of accommodations which include The Cottage, a more opulent choice, or the Hayloft Suite which provides farmhouse elegance.
A micro-brewery operated in partnership with Greg and Jo Cowell of One Brewing, a company affiliated with One Wines, Inc., will also be housed at the site. One Wines is an award-winning winery that has been experimenting with beer production. One Brewing offers a locally-produced pilsner for drinking and tasting in addition to the One Wines pours.
