Shuttle bus trips for senior adults to three Chelan PUD dams take off August 8 and September 5
WENATCHEE, WA – If you want the inside scoop on making hydropower, but aren’t up to climbing stairs or walking a long way, Rocky Reach Visitor Center has designed a tour just for you.
The Senior Tri-Dam Tour is a day-long adventure for senior adults on a small bus to see Rock Island and Rocky Reach dams and the Lake Chelan dam powerhouse at Chelan Falls. The program is for active, independent seniors who can get on and off the bus without help at the start of the tour, for lunch at Rocky Reach and at the end of the day.
“They’ll be comfortably seated most of the day on a chartered bus with experienced guides to point out all the important features of our three PUD dams,” said Debbie Gallaher, Visitor Services Manager. “They’ll get the inside scoop on making clean, renewable hydropower, plus a guidebook so they can take all the facts and fun stories home with them.”
The tours will leave at 8:35 a.m. from the park ‘n’ ride lot on Penny Road in north Wenatchee and return about 4 p.m. There will be reserved parking spaces for tour-goers. There are only 30 spots on each tour. Get your seat on the Senior Tri-Dam Tour by calling Rocky Reach Visitor Center at (509) 663-7522.
