The new Columbia Valley Community Health (CVCH) clinic celebrated their Grand Opening on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017 with a ribbon cutting, tours and a luncheon.
Guest speakers at the ceremony included U.S Rep. Dave Reichart, State Rep. Mike Steele, CVCH CEO David Olson, and Lake Chelan Community Hospital CEO Kevin Abel.
Dr. Keri Bergeson took our reporter Jillian Foster on a VIDEO TOUR of the new clinic.
At 10,000 square feet, the new location is more than double the size of the previous facility which was located on E. Johnson Avenue in Chelan. The new clinic is located at 105 South Apple Blossom Drive across from the Chelan Walmart.
It offers the space for more physicians and a home for the clinic’s future residency program with the University of Washington and Lake Chelan Community Hospital.
The building project costs are estimated at $11 million, with $7 million raised by CVCH, a $1 million federal grant and $3 million borrowed.
The new facility features 12 exam rooms, which offer a more casual atmosphere than a traditional exam room. Some of the rooms house an exam table, while others offer a space for one-on-one consultations with a physician. Keri Bergeson, MD describes these rooms as ‘talking/listening’ rooms.
Other upgrades offered in the new facility include eight dental chairs, which enable the clinic to serve adults as well as children for dental services. The clinic also offers behavior health counselors and an outdoor walking track for wellness. To learn more about Columbia Valley Community Health, visit their website.
