The City of Chelan is evaluating, amending, and updating its Comprehensive Plan consistent with the Growth Management Act (RCW 36.70A) and its municipal code (Chapter 19.40 CMC). Based on the Comprehensive Plan Update, zoning, critical areas, and other development regulations amendments are proposed.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the March 15th Comprehensive Plan update public hearing will be continued before the Planning Commission at 6:00 p.m. on May 17, 2017, in the Council Chambers at 135 East Johnson, Chelan, WA.

Any person has the right to comment on this proposal in writing until 5:00 p.m. on May 17, 2017 or may provide testimony at the public hearing.
Any person has the right to provide testimony at the public hearing. Written comments may be submitted prior to the hearing. Please address any specific and factual comments about the project to Craig Gildroy at the Building and Planning Department, P. O. Box 1669, Chelan, WA 98816. The Comprehensive Plan Update materials may be reviewed at the City Planning Department during regular business hours. Copies of the staff report and applicable criteria will be provided at the applicant’s cost.
The Growth Management Act (GMA) requires the City to review and update as necessary the Comprehensive Plan for GMA Compliance. The City is required to complete this work by June 1, 2017.
The 2017 Comprehensive Plan Scope of Work identifies what portions of the Comprehensive Plan are scheduled to be update and a general time table for doing so. The scope of work includes updating the Housing Element, revising the land use map to allow residential east of Apple Blossom Center by modifying the Warehouse Industrial zone or adding a new zone to accommodate “worker housing” and modification of the Urban Growth Boundary among other items.
The Planning Department will be updating this page with public notices for all future workshops and hearings. This page will provide all public draft documents and information on the update process.
