Chelan Goats Volleyball team falls to Wenatchee in a five set match-up

The Chelan Goats Volleyball team took on Wenatchee at Chelan High School on Thursday, Sep. 7, 2017. The Goats came out with a loss on the court with set scores 25-18, 23-25, 25-23, 16-25, 7-15 against Wenatchee. (Chelan scores listed first.)

“I am very proud of how the girls fought for every point,” Coach Jenifer Rainville said. “In the third set we were down 18-23 and we were able to come back and win that set.”

Individual player stats from the match-up:

  • Lexie Gleasman 15 kills, 9 digs, 10/11 serving w/ 3 aces
  • Emma McLaren 7 kills, 11 digs, 13/13 serving
  • Taylor Boykin 11/12 serving w/ 2 aces, 20 assists
  • Xitlali Cruz 22/24 serving w/ 5 aces, 12 assists
  • Azzia MacDonald 5 kills and 4 blocks
  • Sydney Hawkins 3 kills, 2 blocks
  • Ava Dickes 12/16 serving w/ 3 aces, 7 digs
  • Elly Collins 15/16 serving w/ 1 ace, 5 digs, 2 kills
  • Sierra Rothlisberger 1 kill

“We have lots of positives that came from the match tonight,” Rainville said. “I am pleased with the progress we are making this early in the season.”

The team plays Annie Wright and Charles Wright at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. this Saturday, Sep. 9 at home.
