The Chelan FFA Alumni produces the Lake Chelan Rodeo which is all set to take place August 4-5, 2017. All the proceeds go to support the activities and members of the Chelan FFA Chapter. The Chelan FFA Chapter is one of the nine charter members of the Washington State FFA Association and have been around since the spring of 1930. In that time the Chelan FFA has become one of the premier chapters in the state. With the support of the Chelan FFA Alumni, the 194  members of the Chelan FFA have been able to do many good things.

The Chelan FFA lives the FFA Mission Statement

To develop student potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agriculture education. In the past 15 years, Chelan FFA members have won 14 State Career Development Events including Horse Evaluation, Apple Judging, Forestry, and Hall of Chapters.

When it comes to leadership skills, Chelan FFA members stand out. Twelve of the last 15 District VII FFA Presidents have come from the Chelan chapter. They have had four Washington State FFA Officers in the last 10 years including three State Presidents.

Members have been featured on RFD-TV and have been invited to the White House as President’s Champions of Change. In the FFA, members learn to be public speakers, work as members of a team, and how to make quick decisions and then back them up. This year the Chelan Chapter had 14 State FFA Degree recipients and the State District Farmer the State Star in Placement.

Chelan FFA members are also dedicated to the community. Chapter members log over 2,000 hours a year of community service working on their own projects and in cooperation with local service groups. They have blue jackets and gold standards.

The Chelan FFA Alumni was founded in 1981 by a group of local farmers, and FFA parents to support the efforts of the Chelan FFA chapter and its members and have been connected to the Lake Chelan Rodeo since that time. Walt Pierson was the FFA Advisor back then and was also a former Washington Rodeo Association (WRA) champion calf roper and steer wrestler.

The Chelan FFA Alumni is proud to bring you the 2017 edition of the Lake Chelan Rodeo (Aug. 4-5), their greatest show on dirt in the prettiest place on earth.
