Chelan County Commissioners raise fire danger designation to EXTREME; County road restrictions remain HIGH

The Board of Chelan County Commissioners have designated Chelan County as an EXTREME Fire Hazard restricting outdoor burning and/or open flame devices, except as allowed by permit from the appropriate fire protection agency. Commercially made barbeque devices at residences and stoves or fireplace fires completely contained within a home or residence are allowed with out a permit.

In addition, the Board designates Chelan County as HIGH Fire Hazard Area restricting travel on county roads, except for:

a) Bona fide residents;

b) Landowners and leaseholders to access land to perform work to protect property;

c) Authorized and official business only;

d) Access to open public lands for legitimate purpose/use.
