Long-time friends Bart Shively, Roberta Simonds, Mike Detering, Rosanna Detering, Dave Pettit and Betty Pettit gather weekly for Art Club at the Shively home in Chelan to advise each other with art projects and to enjoy dessert.

“Some of us are more about the dessert than the art,” member Betty Pettit said in a press release. “When our Art Club first formed, Bart’s wife Charlene Shively was an active and founding member. She has since passed away, but our club has continued to meet at the Shively home, and Charlene is always with us in spirit.”

Each Art Club member will display examples or their art at the Manson Library Art Gallery during the entire months of August and September. The exhibit promises to be as lively and diverse as the Art Club is.

The Manson Library is located at Wapato Way and Manson Blvd. in downtown Manson. The library is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on  Tuesdays from 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and on Fridays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
