The 2017 Ladies Club Golf Championship is in the books. Four good friends (two that were tied going into the day) vied for the Championship title. But it was the tough and steady 2016 Champ April Talley who held on to become Club Champion for her ninth time. Congratulations to April!

Runner-up honors went to Barb Rayburn. Division winners were Carol Ferguson, Div. 1; Joni Dedo, Div. 2 (scorecard playoff over Judy Johanson); and Karen Erickson, Div. 3. Gail Bender won low net of the field for the marathon three rounds of golf.

Meanwhile, twenty-three women competed in Medal Play on August 17 (low gross and net of the field and low net by division). April Talley claimed the low gross for the day, and Gail Peterson and Alice Soma tied for low net of the field.

Candace Farnsworth won 1st in Div. 1 followed by Barb Rayburn in 2nd. Susie Clausen took first place in Div. 2 with Joni Dedo and Gail Bender tying for second. Jane Storms won Div. 3.

Gail Peterson holed the only birdie of the day and three women landed chip-ins: Gail Bender, Gail Peterson, and Maggie Stalcup.

Golf next week will be T’s and F’s (total of holes beginning with a T or an F less ½ handicap). Check in is as 7:30 a.m. for the 8 a.m. tee time.

Sign up for the September 14 Invitational if you have not already done so. The Ladies Division thanks Joni Dedo for efficiently organizing and running the Championship Rounds.
